Yes We Can

ok, not only is this the inaugural inauguration of our merry band of travelers, this is my inaugural blog.  See you can teach old dogs new tricks.  The purpose of the blog is to share with our family and  friends in real time or close thereto as possible the sights and sounds and adrenalin rush of being in DC over the next five days.  Perhaps many of you will sit in your warm houses, apartments and cubicles and smugly think we are out of our minds to dare such crowds, but then again you may wish you were right here with us...and now you can be. If the Obama campaign can bring the President into the computers of the masses, we can surely share a few observations and street reporting with our family and friends, no?

So first we were two:

Kathleen and Mavonne

Then there were three:

Mavonne, Kathleen and Susan

And now we are four including Katie.

So we thought we would pose a top ten list:

1.  Malia or Sasha sightings: 0

2.  Ball gown mishaps:  3

3.  Invokings of President Lincoln:  1

4.  Tears of joy shed:  4

5.  Miles walked:  1,000

6. Times temperature dips below 32: 5

7. First Dog sightings: 0

8. Monuments summited: 5

9. Inaugural mementos purchased: 50 (mostly Susan!)

10. Wine count: ...lost track

11. Told you So's: 1

12. Celebrity sightings: 5
